Hello, A group of friends and myself set ourselves a task of creating a name for Australian sparkling white wine. I note Italy has Asti Spumante, South Africa has Cap Classique, Germany has Sekt, and Spain has Cava.

In order to help us in this task, we have tried to determine in what region of Australia the "equivalent" of "champagne" was first sourced. I suspect it was Barossa, but would appreciate any assistance in this research.
Many thanks, Lorraine Doyle, Northbridge NSW
