re: the book "WINE AND WAR"

I am a museum curator working on an exhibit of WINE HISTORY.

I would like to include a section about the WINE AND WAR period and need some information not included in the book.

1. What was the German officers military title who procured the wine. The French used the derogatory expression "Winefurer" ?

2. What branch of service were these officers attached to?

3. What was the military insignia warn on their uniform?

Any help would be appreciated

Excellent book !

I especially liked the sprinkling of vintage dust from cleaned antique carpets & tapestries on new & low quality wine bottles in order to pass them off as rare &
ancient examples of the vintner's art ! Caveat Emptor !
